Sirius on the Mac
Hey internet radio Mac dorks. You might remember that I ranted about my struggles with listening to SIRIUS on the Mac OSX platform online a while back, and I’ve been lucky enough to get some good feedback from the development team for the existing sirius-related freeware about new updates. For that, I say thanks…
I’m a pretty busy guy, and like most online radio listeners, I don’t want to dive into a large project when dialing into my music each morning. I want to click once and hear my stuff, ya know? First, I decide whether I want to listen to music via iTunes (shared on 3 Macs in my office, so there’s a lot to choose from) OR - I dial into SIRIUS. Most of the time, I dial in, because, frankly, I love the shit. If you’ve ever listened to shows by Marky Ramone (29 Punk) or Jason Ellis, Jonny Mosely, Tony Hawk, Bode Miller (all on 28 Faction), Howard Stern Show, (Howard 100) etc. then you know what I mean. Something for everyone, and a lot for me! StarPlayr is my favorite right now (Dec. 07) over SiriusMac, but both seem to one-up the another with each release, and I recommend you try both and keep checking their sites for updates - hell, they’re both free if you subscribe to SIRIUS already.
It should be noted that the programmers of these applications had a pretty sour falling out, but I think this is good for us listeners. It keeps the competition up and gives the programmers incentive to create a better product, to piss the other side off - just like any industry… However, know this - the official Mac SIRIUS system is a joke. (No streaming data such as songs, album, artist, very horrendous tech support - Netscape 7? shit, that’s funny!) … So, support these independent guys. If you know of any other applications, think I’m full of shit, or have other input, please feel free to reply to this post. For now, here’s the links, and enjoy!

I agree it’s good to have choices on the Mac. The PC has so many programs, although probably not as good as the Mac equivalents.
StarPlayr thanks you for your support.
Sincerely,
Goodtime
